Information about our expedition to Holland.

We are at the planning stage. Here are some links to get you thinking about the expedition. The dates are Saturday 24th July, when we will be meeting at about 6pm and travelling to Hull for the Ferry. Return on the evening of Monday 2nd August arriving back in Tadcaster about 10-30am on Tuesday 3rd August. These details to be confirmed after we have booked the ferry. An information form has been issued, please return your booking slip and deposit as soon as possible.

Visit the birthplace of Sweet Hippers, the Dirk Supermarket in Zaandvort where Sweet Hippers were first discovered.

Information about places and activities :

Het Naaldenveld. This is the campsite we will stay at.
Dutch Scouting. Scouting in the Netherlands, celebrating their centenary this year.
Heemstede. This is nearest large town where we do some of the shopping and it's also the railway station.
Zandvoort. A seaside resort where we go to the beach and also do some shopping. There is a motor racing circuit.
Haarlem. The nearest city, worth a day out and also we eat out here.
Amsterdam. A day visit.
De Klim Muur. A climbing wall in Haarlem. Very good, relaxed atmosphere where we can also eat.
Snow Planet. A large indoor snow slope in the Spaarnwoude country park.
Water Geuss. A water activity centre, also in the Spaarnwoude park.
Race Planet. Stage a number of motor sport activities in Amsterdam and at Zandvoort.
Duinrell. A water park near Den Haag.

Google Street views. If you don't know about this feature, it's quite clever. Instead of a Google Map you can see photographs of places instead. Try it.

Zuidlaan. The road leading to the campsite. You can't go all the way there but it gives an idea of the area : very posh.
Monster. This is to show you how flat it is when cycling along the coastal path in Holland. We may stop for lunch here.
A hill. Climbing up to this bridge is about the biggest hill you come across !.
Zandvoort. This is the beach where we go swimming and relax.
